God, Family, Country and Guns!
We grew up in Christian homes in East Texas out in the country, Jared Coffey (co-founder) and I. We were introduced to the outdoors and firearms at a very young age. Hunting, fishing, and shooting sports where just about all we had to do as kids. That’s when my passion for firearms all started.
My greatest love is my family. My wife Sarah and I have three boys Elijah, Ezekiel, and Ezra. I am very family oriented. They are the reason for everything I do. Sarah and I together are raising our boys in much of the same way I was brought up. Our family also shares my passion for firearms and the great outdoors. We spend a lot of time together camping, hunting, and shooting.
The biggest privilege I have had in this life was the opportunity to serve in the US Army. I spent six years as a 19D Cavalry Scout. During that time, I met and served with the greatest of American’s. I did one combat tour in Afghanistan and one overseas tour to South Korea. As a scout, shoot, move, and communicate is your job. Over that course of time I worked with a lot of different weapon systems and loved to operate each one. I became obsessed with the way each one worked. The design, components, and operation were all intriguing to me and I needed to know more. As a result, I reclassified to 91 F Small Arms Weapons and Artillery repair with the US Army National Guard where I continue to serve today. I learned how to work on, operate, and repair every weapon the US Army has, but that wasn’t enough. I needed more knowledge. I then enrolled full time in College for Gunsmithing and was certified through a two-year program at Lenoir Community College in North Carolina. Most gunsmiths probably would have been done with training by that point but not me. I then enrolled at Sonoran Deseret Institute to receive my Advanced Gunsmithing Certificate, however time and experience has brought me to where I am today.
I strive to learn more daily and to be one of the best in this field. Cutting corners, failure or mediocracy are not an option for me. From general gunsmithing to custom builds if I am not happy with it I don’t expect you to be either. Any FFL dealer can sell you a firearm. It is my goal as a professional gunsmith not to just sell you a firearm but to breathe life into every firearm I work on. Create art with each weapon that can be passed on for generations. I will always stand behind everything I do. I look forward to being your choice for all your firearm needs.
I grew up in the country, raised by my parents a Marine and a Texas panhandle ranchers daughter. Homeschooled until high school I was called upon at an early age to be a pivotal role in the family farm and business. An early work ethic was instilled in me by the hard work and charity of my parents. At almost 40 years old I have founded three successful businesses with only quality in mind. Without a college degree I maintain that, “success is not measured by what you have, rather measured by what you overcome”. Actively sitting as the CFO and CEO of two companies and owning and operating my own agriculture company. Relentlessly striving for quality, the products I turn out, come from years of working as a chef and project manager in the telco industry. My first job was working in the family sign business at 7 years old de-nailing lumber. I then attended Culinary School in Corpus Christi and open multiple successful restaurants at an early age. After having my first child now 11, I elected to maintain a well-rounded path in work. Leaving the service industry and entering the Telco industry I worked for a decade as a project manager, learning what to do, and not to do as an operator. I was able to sustain the drive needed to be a parent to my two children and work with my wife to become a doctor. After twelve years of school and a relentless dedication she has achieved a PHD and is my partner in one of my companies.
My partnership in Guns N More with Alan started when we were kids. We vowed to be in business at some point, and it was a no brainer for me. He graduated from gunsmithing school with honors and served the military with honor. I knew we needed to bring back buying and owning a firearm. As a gun owner I found in our day in age all we are left with are big box stores to buy guns. In addition to selling guns, there was no way to sell a gun without taking a huge loss.
After much thought, and tons of preparation, the launch of Guns N More has been one of the most exciting projects I have worked on. Trying to keep the firearm industry moving in an era of looming stigmas, we strive to lift the stigma and keep the tradition alive. Advocacy is not our role, it has more to do with awareness and passion that drives us.
